I think this looks to be a Harlequin beetle. It is indeed beautiful but you wouldn't want to discover that you have a large contingent encamped on your property. I think they may be related to the less romantically named 'stink bug' and their secretions can do damage apparently.
I mowed my mums garden the other day and had to be mindful of the bees nesting in the grass, so I mowed around their home and will leave the patch of grass until they move on. Initially I had to cut the grass by hand as it got too long because the weather in U.K has been so wet…still waiting for summer to start😂 big frogs and tiny baby frogs jumped out as I was cutting, so my neighbour and I put them in a bucket and transferred them to my mothers beautiful pond 🐸 🐸 🪷 🙌🪲🪻🌼🌸 My mothers flowers are looking beautiful 🤩…Thank you mum🙏❤️🙏X
Wow, that's just remarkable, Jane. Spring and summer present such wonderful opportunities to watch nature do its dance. For me, it was the Blue-eyed Darner, collection of dragon-flies that have been visiting my pond lately just as I step outside. Thank you, I feel just a little more centered.
3 more days left for Mary and I. After we left Oshkosh Wisconsin we drove 3500 miles west on I90 west. We saw Mt Rushmore and Devils Tower along the way. Currently in Las Vegas in 38 degree heat.
I practise mindfulness often. Looking at the clouds, smelling the roses, listening to the warbling of magpies. To be still in the moment. So much to be thankful for. Enjoy your well earned break Jane!
That’s correct Margaret and thanks for your concern. I was aware of what it was. It was the serendipity of catching it in that moment, which still thrills me.
