You are correct but I am not sure about how substack works. I do mean how do I send it to you for comment? I’m no where near sending a completed draft. I just wondered how to make a beginning.

Thanks Jane for continuing your story. Good luck with taking your story around Australia. I’m certain it will be a positive experience wherever you go.

Hi Jane,

I enjoyed reading this, particularly Uncle Henry's life story. But I also like the approach to your families life stories based on the Eurasian family photo. You also mention their locations moving between Shanghai and Hong Kong. There are authentic pearls of information about your Mum and keepsakes and how you introduce Uncle Henry. The entrepreneur who owned property before WW2 and then suffered internment and loss of property. And you offer an assessment of your grandfather Kit.

I haven't come across high tea being called 'tiffin' but just so you know I returned to Scotland and had afternoon tea with one of my Mum's friends, in the seventies. My memories start returning for me.

I think the photo of your Uncle Henry's house and his Scottish outfit are real conversation starters. Likewise, that you heard from Historic Shanghai.

Did you include this point in the 'Lost in Shanghai' production for this year?

I am encouraged by your enthusiasm for your story and your Mum's and the biographical writing that it has inspired.

If I was to share my families life story with you on substack can you offer editorial comments?

I am new to substack. I did have a wordpress account. It has been deleted.

I need to know how I can send you my families biography in small parts, as time permits for both of us?

Best Wishes

Carolyn E
