Thanks very much for writing about your portrait experience with me, Jane. I hope that your other subscribers enjoy reading about it too. Happy Easter!
Ha! She’s captured that little smile and sparkle that many of us know so well! Thanks for sharing Jane. I really enjoyed reading this and my heart jumped into my throat as you said Lorraine turned up with you/her portrait in a box and I realized that you had not yet seen it. Oh my :)
An oil on linen portrait that has the appearance of a lithograph print sparks a response from the artist who puts her own talent aside to represent the beauty of her subject thereby acting selflessly to produce a work of art.
Our human life stories take us beyond ourselves and permit us to ramble on. I’m not sure that I can view that as ‘overworking’!
I hope that Lorraine Meinke’s portrait is recognised in this year’s Archibald Prize. I will be voting for it wherever it is held this year.
Jane, you are beautiful, you shine in this Portrait. I get the perfectionism, I am also, accepting not perfect is ok, it's real. You are brilliant, that is what I see and from below comments, others too.
I believe that Lorraine has summed you up and painted you perfectly. I hope that I get to see it on my annual pilgrimage to the Archibald’s this year. 😊
How very special Jane to have your portrait painted. Lorraine has certainly captured you beautifully. I am no artist but I know that hands are particularly hard to paint & Lorraine has done a fantastic job. My bf Margie & I always treat ourselves to an Archies outing & I look forward to seeing you looking back at me. Happy Easter!

You have a lovely face. Hope it gets hung in the gallery.

An excellent descriptive article Jane and an excellent display of both your artistic talent and your care for your subject Lorraine.
Just as a good portrait should be.

Brilliant.
Very nice portrait. The artist has captured you very well.
Oh Jane, it was so lovely to read this. I think your portrait is wonderful. Wishing you a very happy and safe Easter.
What a gorgeous portrait, Jane. A fascinating introduction to it and “your artist”. If it’s her portrait, Lorraine must therefore be your artist.
May it do very well. I do think it has captured the “Jane magic”.

Love the story & how the artist "saw you"
What a beautiful story and Lorraine definitely drew you very very well. I hope the portrait gets selected. ❤️
